GLP-1 Nutrition Dietitian for Jacksonville & the First Coast

On Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound and want the food side handled by a real clinical dietitian instead of an app or an anonymous marketplace? That is the whole of what I do. I'm Jason Fee, MS, RDN, LDN, a Florida registered dietitian who works with GLP-1 patients across Northeast Florida by secure telehealth: protecting muscle, taming side effects, and making the weight loss something you actually keep.

Independent, credentialed, muscle-first

Most GLP-1 "nutrition support" on offer comes from one of three places: a weight-loss app, a company that is also selling you the drug, or an insurance marketplace that shuffles you between interchangeable providers. None of them is a single, named clinician who reads your labs and owns your outcome. That is the gap Vitae Arete was built to fill.

  • One named expert. You work directly with a registered dietitian (MS, RDN, LDN) with a clinical and oncology background, not a rotating roster or a chatbot.
  • Independent of the prescription. I don't sell the medication, so the guidance is about you, not an upsell. Your prescriber manages the drug; I manage the nutrition that makes it work.
  • Muscle is the priority. Without a deliberate plan, a quarter to a third of GLP-1 weight loss can come from muscle. Protecting it is the line between losing weight and losing strength and metabolism. (the evidence on GLP-1 muscle loss.)

What working together looks like

Every plan is built around your medication, your dose, your labs, and your actual life, never a generic handout:

  • A protein protocol that reaches the target needed to preserve muscle, made realistic on an appetite the medication has quieted.
  • Side-effect management. Practical strategies for nausea, early fullness, constipation, and the rough stretch after a dose increase.
  • Clinician-ordered labs to see what is happening beneath the number on the scale, with supplements only where they are genuinely warranted.
  • A maintenance plan so the weight you lose is the weight that stays gone, including how to taper off the medication well.

Serving Jacksonville and Northeast Florida

Jacksonville is a study in distance. It is the largest city by land area in the contiguous United States, a place where "across town" can mean forty minutes and two bridges over the St. Johns. Care here is delivered entirely by secure video, which turns that sprawl into a non-issue: no crawl up I-95, no parking deck, no waiting room, whether you are Downtown, out at the Beaches, in Mandeville-quiet Orange Park, or up toward Nassau County.

The First Coast also carries a heavy service footprint, from the crews tied to NAS Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport to the logistics, port, finance, and healthcare workforce that keeps the region moving. Those are demanding schedules, often with rotations, shift work, and travel that make a standing in-person appointment hard to keep. Nutrition care that meets you on video, on your hours, tends to fit that reality far better. (Vitae Arete is a private-pay practice and does not bill TRICARE or any specific plan.)

Common questions

Do you have an office in Jacksonville?

No physical office in Jacksonville. Vitae Arete is a telehealth practice led by Jason Fee, MS, RDN, LDN, a registered dietitian based in Orlando who works with clients across the First Coast and Northeast Florida by secure video. In a metro as spread out as Jacksonville, that means no drive across town and no waiting room, just the same clinical care from wherever you are.

Can you work with patients in Jacksonville and the wider First Coast?

Yes. Because care is delivered by secure telehealth to anyone in Florida, the practice serves Jacksonville proper along with the Beaches, Orange Park, St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra, Fernandina, and the rest of Northeast Florida. You do not need to be near a clinic to work together.

Do you prescribe Ozempic or other GLP-1 medications?

No. A dietitian doesn't prescribe medication; your physician or prescriber manages that. I handle the nutrition side: protein to protect muscle, managing side effects, and building a plan that makes the medication work and the results last.

Do you take insurance?

Consultations are private-pay. Many clients use HSA or FSA funds, and superbills for potential out-of-network reimbursement are available on request. The practice does not bill insurance or any specific plan, so please confirm your own coverage before assuming reimbursement.

How is this different from Noom, Found, or an insurance dietitian marketplace?

You get one named, credentialed dietitian, not an app, not a prescription service, and not an anonymous marketplace that rotates you between providers. The focus is clinical depth: protecting your muscle, individualizing care around your labs, and one consistent expert relationship instead of a generic program.

Let's make your GLP-1 results the kind you keep.
